Founded in France in 1961, Diptyque is one of my favorite perfume houses. In the early 1960s, painter Desmond Knox-Leet, designer Yves Coueslant and architect Christiane Gautrot worked together to create Diptyque.
In its early years, Diptyque specialized in prints such as curtains and cushions.
It was not until 1963 that Diptyque launched its first line of scented candles for the home.
Very personal topic that’s why here I’ll give you my own opinion. To start with, the most famous of all diptych candles is according to me is Figuier, I’m almost sure it’s the same for you!
Then comes the 34 collection, you know it’s the smell of almost every store in the world, this incredible mix of all the scents of the brand gathered to make one! The 34 collection offers candles, but also a home fragrance, a perfume and eau de parfum, and a scented hourglass!
To simplify, here is my numbered top:
After the success of its scented candles, Diptyque launches its first perfume. Under the simple name of EAU, this perfume was also a great success, contributing to the rapid expansion of the brand, which has now become a brand present in the 4 corners of the world.
In 2019, the brand returns to the subject of water and offers Eau de Minthé, an exceptional perfume that will quickly become a best seller of the brand.
Here are my top 5 Diptyque perfumes:
Historic and mythical, the first Diptyque boutique is located in Paris in the 5th arrondissement, more precisely at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain.
Decades later, Diptyque has opened boutiques in several locations in the capital, as well as in London, New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. A worldwide success that grows year after year.
