Every time I spend a weekend in Los Angeles from Las Vegas, I try to discover a new hotel. Partly because I’m curious, and mainly to bring you new articles. Here’s my full review of the Ziggy West Hollywood hotel, ready to pack your bags?

Even though this hotel is quite large, the exterior façade suggests quite the opposite, yet you’re going to be surprised by this hotel located right in the heart of West Hollywood (not far from The Sandard Weho hotel which has unfortunately closed) where there are so many activities and things to do.

The reception desk

Once inside the hotel, reception is on the right-hand side. A relatively small room, it’s hard to imagine just how big this hotel is! In fact, even though from the outside it appears to have just one floor, it actually has several, but on the lower side of the hill on which it stands! What’s more, the hotel has no fewer than 108 rooms, including 4 suites.

Ask whether WINE HOURS is still on offer – every day, in fact, wine is offered to hotel guests at aperitif time.

The rooms

I’ll be honest with you, I don’t really remember them, and I didn’t even take any photos, especially since the hotel changed its name… probably because the rooms had nothing special to show. Nevertheless, the rooms offer several services, such as:

  • TV with Premium channels
  • Mini fridge
  • Coffee and tea-making facilities
  • Bathrobes / slippers
  • Shower/tub combo or separate shower and tub
  • Free wireless Internet access
  • Guest rooms with patios and balconies
  • Connecting rooms available
  • Complimentary breakfast

I then got an official photo from the hotel’s website, which was nice, wasn’t it?

Some rooms open directly onto the pool, as shown in the photo below.

The swimming pool

At the center of the hotel is a large courtyard where the hotel’s magnificent swimming pool is located. With its heated salt water, flowers, deckchairs, pillows and bar service, it’s the perfect place to spend an entire day sunbathing and relaxing.

The bar… and restaurant!

The hotel has a bar-restaurant on the first floor, called Bar 20. It offers mainly American cuisine (burger, steak…), cocktails, California wines and various hot and cold drinks.

It’s the perfect place for a quick bite or if you don’t feel like dining out.

The gym

The hotel also boasts a 24-hour gym with weights and cardio machines, as well as yoga mats for meditation.

You can also rent bicycles at reception for rides around the city.

Meeting and business areas

If required, you can book the conference room, which can accommodate up to 12 people. The hotel also offers the possibility of organizing outdoor receptions.

If required, a business center offers access to computers, a photocopier and a fax machine.

What about pets?

The Ziggy West Hollywood Hotel allows pets up to a limit of 2 per room and around 45 kilos each. This service is available at a cost of $30 per day per pet (price might change). What’s more, if you’re planning an activity and can’t take your dog with you, we can arrange for a pet sitter – a nice touch, don’t you think?

The hotel offers dog-friendly facilities such as beds and bowls for eating and drinking. If you’d like to go for a walk with your pet, don’t hesitate to ask the receptionist to direct you to the nearest dog park.

Location and parking

The hotel is located in the heart of West Hollywood, just north of LAX International Airport. The easiest way to get there is to rent a car or order an Uber. The average journey takes around 45 minutes, and can take over an hour if there’s traffic on the road. I recommend renting a car in Los Angeles, as it’s much more practical and economical than hiring an Uber for every trip.

It’s not very easy to park in West Hollywood, which is why the hotel offers valet parking at a cost of around $50 a day.

Nevertheless, it’s possible to find parking nearby for around $20 if you don’t mind walking for a few minutes. What’s more, there’s no free parking in this part of town.
