Bio

Whatever you do, don’t call him “Reed.” He is Reead (pronounced Ree-Add,) the 29-year-old Algerian-born French dance-pop artist making waves in Europe and finally gracing the US with his upbeat, fun music style.

While many Americans have yet to hear of him and his music, Reead is no new-comer to the music scene. His first single, “Brother” was released in 2007 and hit Top 20 on UK’s Coolcut Chart that April. This was followed shortly thereafter by “Baby” and “Rewind” (both 2008) which were also both Winter Music Conference Selections for that year. Reead decided to release his full-length album, Nobody’s Innocent in 2008, with the title single and video garnering more than 200,000 views on YouTube. The last single from that album was released in 2010, titled “Straight In The Eyes.”

He’s been top-rated on DJDownloads.com (UK), Link Magazine, France3 (National French TV), French, Dutch, Algerian and UK magazines and charts, including UK’s MixMag, and massive radio play throughout France and the UK, with inclusion on FG DJ Radio’s “Club Dance Compilation” (EMI) Summer 2008.

So how did this hot, young Frenchman get his start? “A friend and I decided to try and write a song,” he explains. “I love music, I love dancing. It always seemed like an impossible dream for me.” But the impossible became possible in 2003, after going to a Madonna concert. “After a showcase in Paris, she was standing near me. I saw her face, and who she was. She was just a regular person,” he says. “At that moment, I knew I had to try and produce my own music. Some people will love me, others will hate me. I’m not perfect. I’m just a guy living my dreams.”
