Hotel Lafayette is located in the historic downtown district, also known as Downtown San Diego. This lively district is the economic and cultural heart of the city, packed with iconic sites, restaurants, stores, entertainment venues and really cool tourist attractions to discover!<\/p>\n

Downtown San Diego offers easy access to the city’s main attractions, such as the famous Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo, the Gaslamp Quarter with its lively restaurants and bars, and the magnificent beaches that line the coast.<\/p>\n

What’s original about the hotel is that you can check in with any member of staff! They are equipped with tablets to make it easy to find your reservation. If necessary, there’s a desk right next to the caf\u00e9 on the right as you enter, which acts as a reception desk. If you need to wait for your room, there’s a large lounge with plenty of tables and chairs for you to relax in.<\/p>\n

What can I say! When I arrived, all I could say was: WOW! A sublime central bar and decor worthy of the 50s, I’m so at a loss for words that I’ll let you admire the photos I took during my stay. The bar offers a wide selection of cocktails, liqueurs, champagnes and wines from all over the world. For your information, you don’t have to be staying in the hotel<\/a><\/strong> to enjoy the bar.<\/p>\n

60s-style dining<\/h2>\n

Change of room, change of era! A trip back in time to the American diners of the 60s, this is the restaurant offered by the hotel just to the left of the bar. Burgers, sandwiches, American specialties, milkshakes… you name it, and the prices are very affordable. You can eat at the table or directly at the bar.<\/p>\n

I honestly felt like I was sleeping in a castle: meticulous decorations, magnificent beds, a well-stocked minibar, an old-fashioned bathroom that also featured products from the French brand diptyque<\/strong>:<\/a> shampoo, shower gel, hand gel and body lotion.<\/p>\n

What I really loved was the minibar: there’s almost everything you need to make your own cocktails in your room. Take a look at the photo and you’ll soon understand, so don’t forget to take a bartending course before your stay!<\/p>\n
